BREATHING FOR INNER PEACE

Control your breath - Control your anxiety, find inner piece.
Even though we do it about 6-20 times a minute we barely think about our breathing and the way we do so. Paying attention to our breathing and taking control of it through simple exercises has a powerful impact upon our performance, wellbeing, inner piece and clarity of mind. The secret of breathing lies in the way we breathe and how we use our breathing to relax body and mind. This helps us greatly in everyday life, especially during the current times of crisis and the high levels of stress and anxiety we experience on a daily basis. Controlled proper breathing and deep relaxation is the ultimate essence not just for freedivers, and that is what you will learn in our practice session.
This is a “dry” class, so there is no water practice. After a short explanation of the human respiratory system we will find a quiet and comfortable place where you will lay on a mat with your eyes closed while the instructor is gently guiding you on how to gently breathe with your abdomen instead of your chest, how to find a relaxing breathing pattern. You will learn how to use this kind of breathing to achieve mental and physical relaxation, and we will complete the session by trying some gentle breath-holding exercises.

BREATHING FOR FREEDIVING
1.5 HOURS
The secret of freediving lies in the way we breathe and how we use our breathing to relax body and mind so that we are ideally prepared for the upcoming breath hold and dive performance. Controlled and proper breathing is what we do as freedivers, and that is why we can teach you its basis in a 60/90 minute practice session. This is a “dry” class, so there is no water practice. After a short explanation of the human respiratory system we will find a quiet and comfortable place where you will lay on a mat with your eyes closed while the instructor is gently guiding you on how to breathe with your belly and how to take a proper full breath. You will also understand the powerful physiological changes happening in our bodies when we hold our breath and how our body helps us to hold our breath safer for longer. Then we will teach you how to use this kind of breathing and breath-hold to achieve mental and physical relaxation and to maximise your breath hold capacity. We will complete the session by trying some gentle breath-holding exercises.
